INTERNATIONAL EXPO CENTER OF CHINA PUBLISHING GROUP CORPORATION
The China Publications Expo International, International Expo Center of China Publishing Group Corporation (henceforth the Expo Center) is under the China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Corporation of the China Publishing Group Corporation. It is the first organization to specialize in international exhibitions related to the Chinese publishing industry.
The Expo Center is headquartered in Beijing, with a branch office in Shanghai. Dedicated to “improving cultural exchange between China and other countries and expanding Chinese copyright export”, the International Expo Center works to develop the exhibition business in the domestic publishing field and to build the largest platform of international cultural exchange and international exhibitions in the Chinese publishing field.
There are four subordinate departments in the Expo Center：the Management Office of the Beijing International Book Fair, the Management Office of the Translation Subsidy Program for Chinese Books, the International Exhibition Department and the International Copyright Department. The primary functions of the Expo Center include: organizing the largest international book fair in China every year: the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF); organizing the two most prominent international publishing conferences in China: the Beijing International Publishing Forum and the Beijing International Copyright Seminar; organizing more than 100 Chinese publishing houses to participate in international books fairs in about 20 countries and regions; organizing Guest of Honor activities at major international book fairs on behalf of the government; carrying out the “China Book International Promotion Plan” on behalf of the government in order to promote the publication of Chinese books abroad via a translation subsidy program; providing international copyright agent services and publishing information and copyright consultancy services.
